figure, dressed in a beautiful daffodil
coloured dress, with long, brown, curly hair,
and a little pair of wings on her back.
"Oh!" the little girl cried in disbelief. "Are you
a fairy?"
Fairy Fleur sat on the edge of Lydia's bed and
started to cry.
"Whatever is the matter?" asked Lydia.
Between sobs, Fairy Fleur explained all about
the Tooth Fairy's illness, that she had been
sent on a special errand by the Queen Fairy,
what she had been told to do, and how she
had forgotten the tooth and then clumsily
woken Lydia up. She sobbed that she had
failed dismally and now she would never be a
proper fairy and have beautiful wings and a
shiny wand; in fact, the Queen Fairy would
probably be so cross, that she would for ever
after make her polish all the other fairies'
wands!
