carefully sat up, and spoke in a clear, silvery
voice. "Oh Lydia, thank you so much!"
Everybody cheered and clapped at once. The
Tooth Fairy had been so ill that she had
completely lost her voice, and some of the
fairies even wondered if they would ever
hear her speak again!
The Queen clapped her hands for everyone to
be silent. Then, after she had thanked Lydia
again, she asked Fairy Fleur to step forward.
She asked Fairy Fleur for the golden pouch
containing the tooth, which the little fairy
handed over. Then, with a wave of the
Queen's arms, there suddenly appeared on
Fairy Fleur's back, the most beautiful pair of
shimmering, lacy wings. At the Queen's
command, two other apprentice fairies
stepped forward, holding a large, shiny wand,
which they handed to Fairy Fleur.
